Now, family photo sessions aren’t something I normally do. All weddings me, right? Zoe, a guest at a couple of weddings I shot last year, dropped me a line saying that she wanted to get her mum a special gift for her birthday and that she’d had an idea to have a nice, casual family photo session. Nice and casual sounded good to me. No blue jeans, white shirts and awkward poses around these parts. Hell no.
Zoe had the idea to head over to Windsor Great Park (Virginia Water Lake to be specific) to take a stroll around the park and get some shots of the Kirbys doing what they do best: larking about. We headed over to the park (can’t believe I’d never been there before, it’s amazing) on what was probably the hottest day of the year so far.
The whole clan weren’t mad keen on anything too posed so we just took a stroll through the quieter, less populated parts of the park while I snapped away. Then, when they were comfortable with me chasing them around like their own private paparazzi, we even managed to sneak in a some group shots – a few for the mantle piece.
Here’s a small sample of what the Kirby family took home from their session. Big love to the whole gang and Woody the dog for a wicked Sunday morning.
